The DiFiore Family Roots

The DiFiore Family has a rich history with its origins in Bagheria, Palermo Province, Sicily, Italy.  We are the descendants of the first generation of DiFiore's born in the United States.

Matteo DiFiore (1777) and Mary Riggio (1766)

      Children:  Giacomo DiFiore (1806), born in Bagheria, Sicily

​

Giacomo DiFiore (1806) married Maria Giangrasso (1808) on February 23, 1929, in Bagheria, Sicily.  Giacomo arrived in New York on January 24, 1910.  Maria would follow on March 4, 1914.

Silvestre DiFiore (1835-1912) married Maria Cristina Scaduto (1842-1911) in 1860 in Bagheria, Sicily.  Silvestre DiFiore and Maria Cristina Scaduto arrived in New York City on June 14, 1902.

                  Matteo (Matthew) DiFiore (1883-1946)

Giacomo (1861-1945) married Grazia La Rosa (1870-1957) in Bagheria, Sicily.  Giacomo immigrated to New York on January 24, 1910, followed by Grazia La Rosa on April 20, 1910.  Their six children were all born in Bagheria, Italy.

Giuseppe (1864) married Anna Puleo (1875) in Bagheria, Sicily.  He would originally immigrate to New York in July 9, 1900, but traveled between Italy and the United States several times.  Anna Puleo would join him in 1912.

Andrew (1868-1924) was born in Bagheria .  He married to Angelina Bartolotta and they had four children.

Silvestre (1906).

Vincenzo (1870-1904) married Salvatrice Fazzino.  They would immigrate to New York 1903.

Children:     Christina (1903-1915) (twin was deceased at birth) 

Vincenzo (1905-1996).

​

Cosimo (1835-1971) was born in Bagheria, Sicily.  He sailed to America arriving at the Port of New York on March 6, 1990.  July 27, 1902, Cosimo (27) and Rosaria Barone (17) were married in Manhattan, New York City.

Andrew (Andrea) (1920-2011).

Maria DiFiore (1877-1954) immigrated to New York with her husband, Francesco Longo July 26, 1899.

Rosa DiFiore (1880-1917) arrived in New York June 14, 1902.   She married Giovanni Colombo September 1909 in New York City.

Matteo (1883-1945) is believed to immigrated to New York December 21, 1900.  He married Rosaria La Mole (1889) on June 1906 in New York.
